Promoting sustainability: HLDC plants trees in 3 project sites

Hausland Development Corporation (HLDC) celebrated Arbor Day from June to July with a significant tree planting event across three project sites of The Hauslands.

This green initiative highlights HLDC’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability, with the goal of creating spaces, reduce urban heat, and preserve the natural environment.

Various trees were planted across three The Hauslands project sites in Mabalacat, Bataan, and Subic, each selected for their suitability to the local environment and their benefits to the community:
In Bataan, HLDC partnered with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) for Arbor Day on June 28, 2024 where 100 narra trees were planted at The Hauslands Bataan project site in Abucay, Bataan. The event drew participation from the Barangay Captain, Sangguniang Barangay Councils, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office, HLDC Management, and various local groups from Abucay.

In Mabalacat, Pampanga, HLDC collaborated with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) for Arbor Day on July 5, 2024 where 95 fruit-bearing trees and 85 Balacat trees were planted at The Hauslands Mabalacat project site in Mauaque and Mabiga, Mabalacat City. The event was attended by the Barangay Councils of Brgy. Mauaque and Mabiga, the Philippine Air Force (Clark Airbase), Teco Industrial Park locators, the City Youth Development Office, HLDC Management, and various local institutions in Mabalacat City.

On July 12, 2024, at The Hauslands Subic project site in Subic, Zambales, 40 pine trees were planted. The event was attended by the Barangay Captain of Mangan-Vaca, representatives from the Mayor’s Office, Sangguniang Bayan, and other local government units in Subic.

This tree planting event reflects HLDC’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. By celebrating Arbor Day, HLDC highlights its dedication to environmental preservation and community well-being, aiming to reduce the urban heat island effect and promote a healthier, more sustainable living environment.

Melissa D. Mercado, Operations Manager of HLDC, emphasized the importance of such initiatives: “We are not just planting trees; we are sowing seeds of hope, sustainability, and commitment to our environment. Each tree we plant today will stand as a symbol of our commitment to environmental stewardship and our dedication to creating a better, greener world,” she remarked.
