PRESS RELEASE
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Former Caloocan City Mayor Rey Malonzo has advised gubernatorial aspirant Danilo Baylon to cease trusting his mouthpiece former Candaba mayor Jerry Pelayo.
Kaya kwidaw po, caution, Mr. Baylon,” Malonzo said, relaying his advice to reporters last April 12.
He said he broke his silence out of concern for Kapampangans after watching a video where Pelayo imputed wrongdoings on officials. Malonzo traces his roots in San Simon town.
According to Malonzo, Pelayo did not help him battle the Asistios, appearing only when he was sworn into office in 1995. He treated him as a friend and took him along on overseas trips. Aside from winning contracts, Pelayo put his relatives as consultants.
Although friends, Malonzo refused to pay Pelayo’s P18-million plant watering project because the latter charged fees for services even when it rained or a storm occurred. Malonzo said Pelayo did not give him his share of 5 hectares from 11 hectares of farm in Candaba and a P13-million house in Quezon City which he saved from being seized by a bank.
Ano ba naging kita niya.”
Malonzo believed that Pelayo continued to have political ambitions, which was why he panders to the opposition.
Pampanga News Now tried to get the side of Pelayo, but he refused to give a statement.
