ANGELES CITY – The Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center in this city will soon have a new wing, while 18 additional dialysis machines will be installed in the hospital to accommodate marginalized patients and those in the waiting list.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said that of the 18 dialysis machines, 7 will be put up at the old dialysis center while the remaining 11 will be available at the new dialysis wing, which will rise soon.
“The city government will continue to strengthen medical services to benefit more Angeleños in need,” Lazatin said.
At the time of writing, there are 130 patients on the waiting list of the dialysis center.
“We are exhausting resources to purchase more machines for our patients. Ayaw po nating maantala ang kanilang pagpapagamot kaya gumagawa po tayo ng mga paraan,” Lazatin added.
Lazatin shared this to RLMMC Chief Dr. Froilan Canlas during his visit today, February 10, 2022 with his Chief Adviser IC Calaguas.
According to Dr. Canlas, the 7 dialysis machines intended for the old center will be set up in 1 month, while the additional wing of the center will be finished in two months’ time.
Canlas also said that each dialysis patient has a unique treatment, with allotted intervals for the scheduling to ensure that there will be no reflux of patients while following necessary protocols especially this pandemic.
