Rob suspect nabbed in Bataan

Bataan police acting director Col. Romell Velasco on Friday reported the arrest of a holdup suspect in Limay.

In a report by Limay police chief Maj. Gerald Bautista, complainant Manolito Napana said he, his wife and their daughter alighted from their vehicle and was about to open the gate of their house on P. Enriquez St. in Bgy. Townsite, Limay, Bataan, when two suspects showed up and pointed a gun at them.

Napana said the suspects forcibly took his wife’s handbag containing at least P160,000 cash, an Apple iPhone 7 Plus cellphone, and gold necklace worth P40,000 before they fled on a motorcycle.

In a follow-up operation, the police obtained the CCTV footage showing that aside from the motorcycle used by the suspects, another getaway vehicle was used by the suspects to transfer upon reaching Barangay Alangan.

Police later identified the vehicle as a Nissan Almera with plate number NAN 1647 and found it was a rented Grab car.

The operator of the vehicle managed to get in touch with the person who rented the car, identified as Marvin Picardal, 27, a Grab driver and resident of Martinez St., Mandaluyong City.

The police proceeded to Mandaluyong City where the vehicle was found in the possession of Picardal and arrested him.

Velasco encourages the public to be vigilant and immediately report any incident that will compromise their safety, security and property.
