Romac Group, one of the country’s leading manpower provider firms, leads business groups response to the call of Governor Dennis Pineda to ensure care for workers during calamities.
In a phone call, Romac Chairman Rene G. Romero said that his company is now framing a new policy that would ensure pay for their workers who are unable to report to work during typhoons and other natural calamities.
Romac’s response is an offshoot of an appeal by Pineda as they discussed measures to help families affected by Carina and the monsoon rains in Pampanga.
“Our company will be adapting a new policy and a memo will be circulated. This is our commitment, as part of our CSR, to help our employees in Romac that are affected by calamities especially typhoons,” Romero said.
“This is our way of helping our own employees and their families. And this applies to any affected location where Romac operates,” he added.
Romero also expressed hope that other business enterprises in Pampanga would heed the appeal of the Governor.
Earlier, Romero has spoken with Pineda and Provincial Disaster Risk Reducation and Management Office head Angie Blanco to ensure Capitol of the support of the business sector to government’s relief operations.
Pineda in return requested the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry inc. to extend assistance to members’ employees who are affected by the typhoon.
“To this, I salute the governor for being concerned about employees in the business sector of our province,” he added.
