SUBIC, Zambales — The Subic Bay Freeport Zone is now open and does not require RT-PCR tests or antigen tests for entry, but strictly implements wearing of face masks.
Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairperson and Administrator Wilma Eisma affirmed that the Freeport has opened for leisure, travel, and dine with almost 100 percent vaccinated employees.
She also confirmed the rebound of the area catering to economic frontliners and visitors.
“There is a reason for mandatory adherence to protocols because we do not want to have a surge and we do not want to stop the economic recovery from flourishing,” the official furthered.
Tourists must also bring with them vaccination cards in case asked by some personnel.
For their part in the vaccination program of the government, SBMA opens its vaccination centers for everyone.
“Please feel free to get your COVID-19 jabs in our vaccination centers when you happen to visit or dine here in Subic,” Eisma urged.
Interested individuals may proceed to Harbor Point mall for walk-in vaccination.
In terms of workforce, Subic Bay Freeport has shifted from alternative work arrangements to daily work arrangements.
“Majority of the companies here, if not all, had their employees vaccinated for protection and for continuous work and through all that, the Department of Health provided the vaccines needed,” Eisma said.
She expressed her gratitude to the National Task Force against COVID-19 for this feat.
“Whatever accomplishments we have here in SBMA in terms of vaccination would not have been without the support of the national government, so with that I thank you for all your support,” Eisma said.
