SBMA, PCG rescue fisherman in Subic Bay

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued a distressed fisherman from the raging waters of Subic Bay on the morning of November 10, 2025.

According to SBMA Senior Deputy Administrator (SDA) for Port Operations Ronnie Yambao, the fisherman was identified as Ceasar Broñola, a 58-year-old resident of Sitio Agusuhin, Cawag, Subic Zambales.

The fisherman was successfully rescued after his boat capsized at the West Breakbulk Head Marine Terminal NSD.

The successful rescue was made possible through the joint efforts of the PCG and the SBMA’s Seaport Department.

The fisherman was examined by Dr. Arlene Cesa of the Public Health and Services Department (PHSD) and was escorted by the PCG outside the Subic Bay Freeport for proper turnover to the LGU of Subic.

A more detailed report will be submitted to the Chairman and Administrator within the day once the SBMA Intelligence and Investigation Office has completed its investigation.
