CAMP OLIVAS – The driver of an SUV who went viral on Facebook after speeding off to elude payment of fuel from a gasoline station in Mexico town was arrested in Barangay Pulung Maragul, Angeles City,
Highway Patrol Unit-3 regional commander Col. Bernard Marzan identified the owner/driver of an SUV Toyota Fortuner (NEC-6427) as Arvin De Luna, 42, of Mansfield Subdivision, Angeles City.
Marzan said a Pampanga Highway Team headed by Major Joseph Martin was patrolling Bonifacio Road in the said barangay when they flagged down the heavily-tinted SUV for reckless driving.
The operating team saw the Fortuner swerving in and out of the lane while overtaking other vehicles.
Upon verification, the SUV had a complaint at the Mexico Police Station when the driver intentionally sped off after gassing up at a gas station in Barangay Panipuan, Mexico, failing to pay P3,000.
The driver was taken to the Pampanga Highway Patrol Team while his vehicle was impounded.
