CLARK FREEPORT — A Tarlac-based exporter will install a 120-square meter wall around the theme of the Pinatubo volcano in the flagship store of Crate&Barrel in New York City, Gov. Susan Yap said here on Wednesday.

The company South East bested four other enterprises from Asian countries, Yap said at the news forum KapiHann of the Pampanga Press Club at the Swissotel here.

According to the governor, Crate&Barrel is unveiling the installation on Nov. 1.

Crate&Barrel sells contemporary and modern furniture, housewares and decors sourced from communities.

She did not show a miniature of the winning piece but said it is made of natural materials like lahar and sand that Mt. Pinatubo spewed during its June 15,1991 eruption, the second world’s worst blast after Mt. Novarupta in Alaska.
