Unilab cites partnerships as key in healthcare

CLARK FREEPORT – The Philippines’ leading and Filipino-owned pharmaceutical company has underscored the importance of public and private sector partnerships in bringing healthcare to the grassroots.

This, as Unilab celebrates the World Diabetes Month with a health and witness fair in three key areas of Pampanga next week.

Claire Papa, AVP and head of External Affairs and Social Partnerships of Unilab said that their company has long established partnership with the government as part of its “augmentation program” that helps provide health care.

Papa was guest in KapiHann, a media forum of the Pampanga Press Club at Swissotel Clark in cooperation with Hann Resorts.

“We believe in partnerships and our augmentation are anchored on established government programs. This is the spirit of our Alagang Unilab campaign ” Papa said.

Under this program, the company is set to conduct health and wellness fair in Mabalacat City (Nov 12), City of San Fernando (Nov 13) and Porac town (Nov 14). A total of 500 individuals with various illnesses would benefit in the outreach.

Papa clarified that the event is not a medical mission as host local health offices have already pre-identified beneficiart-patients who have long been in the masterlist of residents known to have ailments like diabetes, hypertension and other lifestyle diseases.

“It would be festive and interactive. The health and wellness fair is designed to be participatory, comfortable in order to keep audience listening,”

Known for producing Biogesic, Bioflu, Tiki-Tiki, Unilab has more than 300 brands in its 80-year existence. It has a manufacturing plant in Floridablanca, Pampanga.
