CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Provincial Government of Pampanga, led by Governor-elect Lilia “Nanay” Pineda has distributed ₱18.91 million financial assistance to 4,728 marginalized farmers across the province.
On behalf of Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda the assistance was given in response to the continued decline in the price of palay (unmilled rice) and to help farmers cope with the challenges of the rainy season.

Each beneficiary received ₱4,000 cash assistance along with grocery items. The aid was funded by the Provincial Government through the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and the Provincial Information Office (PIO).

Governor-elect Nanay Pineda was assisted by members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan during the series of distributions held in the province.
In her message, Nanay Pineda explained that the distribution was delayed due to the election ban imposed by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

She thanked the farmers for their unwavering dedication, saying, “You make sure that every Filipino has food on the table. We owe you our gratitude.”
Provincial Agriculturist Jimmy Manliclic also highlighted the Capitol’s long-term efforts to support the farming sector, including the opening of two Rice Processing Centers in Pulong Masle, Guagua, and Sta. Catalina, Lubao. These facilities, once fully operational, will allow farmers to sell their palay at more competitive prices.

In addition to agricultural support, medical assistance from the Capitol remains available. Farmers and other Kapampangans are encouraged to approach their barangay health workers or local officials to access free medical services.
One of the beneficiaries, Rey Cunanan of San Miguel, San Simon, expressed his gratitude: “This is a big help for our family.”
