Yokohama turns over library, computer facility to Angeles school

ANGELES CITY — Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc. (YTPI) recently turned over a newly renovated Library and Computer Facility with an adjoining classroom to Teodoro P. Tinio Elementary School (TPTES) in Barangay Balibago.

This is in line with YTPI’s ongoing commitment to support local education and as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The ceremonial turnover was led by Masatsugu Nishimon, Executive Vice President – Administration Division, and Geraldine B. Bautista, Department Manager of Corporate Planning and Business Operations, together with the PR and CSR Team from the Public Relations and General Services Section.

They were warmly welcomed by School Principal Yvette Rosario Annali S. Batul, and Philip Ceazar T. Dela Cruz, Administrative Officer II of TPTES. Also in attendance was Dr. Leonida K. Quinto, Public School District Supervisor of Angeles City.

This initiative supports Republic Act No. 12028, also known as the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program Act of 2024, spearheaded by the Department of Education. The adjoining classroom was renovated to address the school’s shortage of learning spaces following the closure of a nearby elementary school. TPTES initially reached out to YTPI in August 2024, presenting the condition of their library, computer room, and adjoining classroom, which were severely damaged by Typhoon Pepito. The facilities suffered extensive roof and ceiling damage, resulting in water intrusion that affected books, printers, and computers.

Renovation works began in June 2025, in partnership with Mygie Construction. Key improvements included:

  • Installation of a separate access door and double wall for the library and computer room
  • Roof replacement to prevent water leaks
  • Ceiling repairs, gutter restoration, and wall repainting
  • Installation of new LED lighting and floor repainting

The Library and Computer Room are being used by TPTES learners, while the newly renovated classroom serves Grades 1 and 3. YTPI remains steadfast in its mission to uplift communities through meaningful CSR programs that foster learning and development.
