Police arrested two men who yielded ₱900,000 worth of suspected fake cigarettes without proper documentation during a checkpoint in Barangay Mapalad, Arayat town on May 14.
The suspects, identified as aliases “Gerald” and “Noel,” were attempting to flee from authorities but were quickly apprehended. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 60 boxes of cigarettes and a white Nissan Urvan (NV350) used for transporting contraband.

The suspects failed to provide documents proving the legitimacy of their cargo, leading to charges for violating the Consumer Act of the Philippines, Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, and Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines.

PBGen Jean S. Fajardo praised the determined action of the operatives, emphasizing the campaign against counterfeit products and lawless individuals in Central Luzon.
