2 suspected drug peddlers nabbed in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY – After a month-long surveillance, two suspected drug peddlers finally fell into the hands of authorities following their arrest Monday during a drug bust in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City.

Colonel Amado Mendoza Jr. Angeles City Police Office director, only identified the suspects in their aliases “Taruc” and “Joey” who are both residents of the said barangay.

Mendoza said the two were immediately placed under arrest after receiving the Php1,000 marked money from an undercover cop in exchange for a small sachet of methampetamine hydrochloride known as shabu.

“We have been monitoring the illegal activities of the suspects after concerned residents in the area informed the police about their operation,” Mendoza said.

According to Mendoza, the arrested suspects were among those in the PNP list of high-value individuals who were reportedly engaged in the distribution of illegal drugs in Angeles City and nearby areas.

Police seized from the suspects some 5 grams of shabu placed inside two heat-sealed plastic sachets with an estimated street value of Php34,000.

The suspects are now detained at Angeles City jail after appropriate charges were filed against them in court.
