74 law violators nabbed in Bataan anti-crime drive

BATAAN – Some 74 law violators were apprehended during a weeklong anti-crime drive in this province, according to Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco.

He said 19 drug peddlers were nabbed in separate buy-busts in  Abucay, Bagac, Balanga, Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Limay, Mariveles, Morong, Orani, Pilar and Samal.

Fifty-four sachets of shabu and more or less 30 grams of marijuana were seized from the suspects, he said.

Thirty operations relevant to the implementation of warrants of arrest were conducted by the Abucay, Balanga, Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Limay, Mariveles, Morong, Orani, Orion, Pilar and Samal operatives, which led to the arrest of 31 individuals.

Meanwhile, three persons were caught by the Dinalupihan police for possession of loose firearms and seven guns were confiscated by the Dinalupihan and Mariveles cops.

On the campaign against Illegal logging, three individuals were arrested in Abucay.

In the campaign against Illegal Gambling, the Balanga, Hermosa, Limay and Mariveles police conducted separate anti-Illegal gambling operations which resulted to the arrest of 18 gamblers while P11,220 bet money was confiscated.

The Bataan police will continue to mount police operations against wanted persons and other illegal activities to provide a safe community where people can live, work and do business peacefully, Velasco said.
