CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Acting Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda said there is a need to conduct water testing in communities to identify and address the factors contributing to the rising number of illnesses.
This, she said, is the first step to prevent the spread of diseases.
Aside from this, the acting governor also asked the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office to identify persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, and members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) as priorities in the Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Program.
Furthermore, the acting governor will also work with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) to give proper attention to the medical needs of each young student.
She added that there are many students who struggle with their studies because of their poor eyesight.
“Pasusukatan natin sila para ‘di na sila mahirapang makapagmove forward sa kanilang pag-aaral, lalagyan natin sila ng lente sa mata na akma sa kung ano ang grado nila,” said Vice Governor Nanay, as she disclosed that she received 10,000 optical frames as donation.
She also stressed the importance of livelihood and employment in preventing diseases. According to her, depression and malnutrition are frequently the results of a family’s inability to meet basic daily needs, such as food.
