Consul General Elmer G. Cato is presented a copy of a resolution of Sangguniang Panlungsod of Angeles City.
Handed over by Miss Janet Sangil, wife of Councilor Jay Sangil, the resolution recognizes the efforts of Cato as the Philippines’ top diplomat in Northeast America. He was commended for his efforts to help keep Filipinos safe from the COVID-19 pandemic and Asian hate crime on top of boosting tourism and economic diplomacy.
The resolution was sponsored by Councilors Sangil, Dan Lacson, Edu Pamintuan, Alex Indiongco, Jerry Alejandrino, Alfie Bonifacio, JC Parker Aguas, Raco Del Rosario, Marino Banola, Crisano Cortez and Vice Mayor Vicky Vega. It was presented during the thanksgiving fellowship tendered for Cato by the Filipino-American community at the Philippine Center in New York shortly before he was reassigned to Milan, Italy.
