MEXICO, Pampanga – Mayor Teddy Tumang has laid down grand plans for the biggest Pampanga town once re-elected to his third and final term as this town’s chief executive.
Foremost in his blueprint will be the cityhood where this town that borders capital City of San Fernando (CSF) could become the fourth city in Pampanga, joining Angeles City, Mabalacat City and City of San Fernando.
“Nag-usap na po kami ni Cong. Dong Gonzales para sa planong ito,” Tumang said in a press conference.
He also underscored the need to have more facilities like a new municipal hall building, new public market and a convention center.
He is eyeing also an improvement of the existing medical facilities that include the dialysis center and the diagnostic laboratory of the town.
“Marami na po ang mga natutulungan ng mga pasilidad na ito. Hindi lamang po kababayan natin sa Mexico kundi pati na yung mga mula sa karatig bayan,” he said.
The proposed public market, he said, will be jointly developed and used with SM where the ground floor will be operated by the LGU while the former occupies the second floor.
Contrary to some allegations, he clarified that no loans have been obtained for the proposed project.
Tumang said that the LGU has been getting more foreign and local investors, including the multibillion peso IT Campus being put up by Dennis Anthony Uy that will straddle this town and neighbor Angeles City.
