
BACOLOR, Pampanga – Mayor Eduardo “Diman” Datu and his team dominated the recent elections, winning all local elective posts except one.
Datu, who was gunning for his second term, handily defeated Vice Mayor Willy Balingit. He got 26,299 votes while Balingit had 13,753 votes.
Councilor Ron Earvin Dungca, son of former three-term Bacolor Mayor Romeo “Buddy” Dungca, ran unopposed for vice mayor. The running-mate of Datu under the “Dunong At Dangal” team collected 29,621 votes.
The winning councilors affiliated with Datu and Dungca were Angelina Angeles, Aiza Mae Cunanan, Joel Samia, Renz Louie Canlas, Cynthia David, Efren Blanco and Carlito Laxa,
Only Jo Derek Hizon of Balingit’s team won a seat in the municipal council.
