ANGELES CITY — The city government has purchased two scissorlifts – the first of their kind in Pampanga – for the use of the Angeles City Public Cemetery and Crematorium.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said these machines will help in the public cemetery’s maitenance and services, ensuring the upkeep and efficiency of the cemetery grounds.
“This move reflects our commitment to improve our public cemetery’s amenities and services for our residents,” Lazatin said.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, who is supervising the operations at the public cemetery with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, said this is in line with the aim of Mayor Lazatin to provide his constituents with a decent and dignified interment.
Philip Samson, Officer-in-Charge of ACPCC, said the scissorlifts were already delivered and are available to use.
“Since apartment type po ang ating public cemetery, malaking tulong po ito sa tuwing naglilibing tayo. The machine will help us in our work,” Samson said.
In addition, Samson shared that scissorlifts are safer to use than ladders because they are equipped with safety devices that protect operators from unexpected workplace accidents or injuries.
Among the flagship projects of Mayor Lazatin since he took office is the improvement of the city’s public cemetery.
To recall, a free casket is provided for indigent residents who face an untimely demise.
The city government under Lazatin’s stint also purchased two new crematorium machines for the public cemetery.
To date, the ACPCC has 2,697 niches and 193 columbariums.
