AC to give ₱10-K aid for fire victims in Virgen Delos Remedios

ANGELES CITY — The city government has ordered the immediate release of ₱10,000 financial assistance to the six households affected by a fire in Barangay Virgen Delos Remedios on August 20, 2022.

The cash assistance to the six households, composed of 21 individuals, will be charged to the Office of the City Mayor. The Local Finance Committee – City Budget Office, City Accounting Office, and the City Treasurer’s Office – is now processing the immediate release of the assistance. 

Maliit lamang pong halaga ito pero sa abot po ng ating makakaya, tutulong po tayo,” Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said.

Upon also the order of Mayor Lazatin, the families will receive food packages and goods such as mats, candles, hygiene materials and towels, which were distributed by the City Social Welfare and Development Office led by Edna Duaso.  

Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer-in-Charge Rodolfo Simeon said that one was reported injured, who was quickly assessed and treated by the medical rescue team of ACDRRMO.

Simeon said the rescue team went immediately to the scene to check on the victims, upon the prompt order of Mayor Lazatin.

To recall, this is not the first time that the Lazatin administration ensured the welfare of constituents affected by fire. 

Some ₱360,000 worth of cash assistance was given to San Nicolas fire victims last October 2020; ₱10,000 aid each to 7 families in Lourdes Sur East on November 2021; 3 families in San Jose on January 2022; 7 families in Barangay Malabanias on February 20, 2022; and 2 households in Barangay Pandan last April 16 and 17, 2022.
