Angeles City conducts citywide Brigada Eskwela

ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has extended full support to the city’s 55 public schools in preparation for the upcoming school year by providing essential materials for cleanup and restoration.

Mayor Lazatin, together with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and Gender and Development Officer-in-Charge Mina Cabiles, on June 9, 2025 personally distributed to each school 40 liters of paint, four paint rollers, and 25 bags of cement to aid in their Brigada Eskwela efforts.

To expedite the distribution, Mayor Lazatin also deployed three other teams from his Senior Staff to simultaneously deliver the materials, ensuring coverage of all 55 schools. The teams were composed of Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions Office Head Irish Llego and Mayor’s Office staff Ace Merano; Angeles City Tourism Office Head Anneleen Antonio-Sugui and Angeles City Tourism Auxiliary Head Michael Lising; and Mayor’s Office staff Jane Calimquim and Von Ryan Sugui.

This initiative is part of Mayor Lazatin’s continuing commitment to ensuring that Angeleño students return to safe, clean, and conducive learning environments. The donation is personally funded by Mayor Lazatin to support the schools’ Brigada Eskwela activities.

“Walang iwanan sa Brigada Eskwela. Ang edukasyon ay patuloy nating inuuna,” Mayor Lazatin said.

It has been a tradition of Mayor Lazatin to donate construction materials to public schools yearly since he entered public service in 2013 as a city councilor.
