Angeles City rescues 3 minors from Fields Avenue bars

ANGELES CITY — Three minors were rescued by the city government from entertainment bars along Walking Street in Fields Avenue here on March 22.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. led the rescue operations of the minors, all aged 15.

Lazatin was with City Social Welfare and Development Office head Edna Duaso, Business Permit and Licensing Division head Evangeline Malonzo and City Health Office — Sanitation Division head Alvin Dingal during the rescue operations.

The city government will be under the custody of the CSWDO and will be provided temporary shelter at the Home for the Girls.

Lazatin ordered the filing of charges against the bar owner and the supervisor of the bar.

In addition, 27 workers were caught not having the required health ID and were advised to comply.

Lazatin ordered the closure of the entertainment bars that do not comply with the requirement of health IDs for their employees.

To recall, it has been the priority program of Lazatin since he took office to conduct rescue operations and to ensure that entertainment bars are in compliance with the city’s regulations.
