BOC-Port of Clark, PDEA seize P7.8-M shabu from London

Some P7,866,000 worth of imported shabu were seized on Tuesday from a female claimant following a controlled delivery operation by PDEA Central Luzon, Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, BOC-Port of Clark and the local police in Cavite.

Authorities arrested claimant Noelle Denise Az, 29, of Magdiwang Subd., Bgy. Queens Row Central in Bacoor, Cavite.

According to reports, the shipment originated from London, England and arrived at the Port of Clark last September 23.

“The prohibited drugs were discovered in an imported container labeled as ‘BABYSOFT TOYS’ but as customary, the package was subjected to a thorough physical inspection and field testing using Rigaku Progeny,” the PDEA said.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were one package containing two stuffed toys, each containing three blue plastic bags of shabu weighing 1,140 grams with an estimated street value of P7,866,000;  six identification cards; and one mobile phone.

The suspect will be charged with violation of RA 9165.
