CAMP GENERAL ALEJO S SANTOS — A 12-year-old son of a policeman died due to an accidental firing that happened inside a school in Brgy. Muzon, City of San Jose Del Monte on Thursday.
In a report to Bulacan police Col. Relly Arnedo, the victim accidentally shot himself inside the victim’s school comfort room at around 5:40 AM.
Investigation revealed that the issued firearm of his father, who is a police officer currently assigned at Camp BGen Rafael Crame, was taken by the victim from their residence in Brgy Muzon, CSJDM and managed to take it inside the school premises.
The victim apparently tinkered with the gun but unfortunately it discharged unintentionally and hit the victim’s chin, as the bullet went out through the victim’s nasal area.
Teachers rushed the injured patient to a nearby hospital, and was transferred to Skyline Hospital for further medical intervention. He died a few hours later.
A thorough investigation is now being conducted by the San Jose City Police.
