CSF drug reformists join major clean-up drive

DRUG REFORMIST FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. A 55-year-old drug reformist from the City of San Fernando joins in the major clean-up drive activity of the City Government and interior and local government department on March 25, 2022.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Over a dozen Fernandino drug reformists helped clean four key areas along the MacArthur Highway in Barangay Del Pilar here surrounded by commercial and residential establishments, which are among the major waste contributors in the city.

This is part of this year’s major clean-up drive jointly held by the City Government of San Fernando and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Pampanga last March 25 in several sites.

Joining other personnel from the local government unit, DILG, barangays, and other groups, the reformists, who currently undergo community-based drug rehabilitation program, came from different reformation centers in San Fernando.

Police Staff Sergeant Patrick Ramos of the City of San Fernando Police said their office is presently handling around 100 reformists who voluntarily surrendered to police authorities upon “finding hope and change in reformation.”

Apart from clean-up drives, several activities for the reformists were scheduled within the entire duration of the reformation stage that usually takes at least a month.

Meanwhile, Marilen Malabanan, City Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO), urged the participants to convey the call to environmental protection to their communities with an oath called “Panatang Makakalikasan.”

ENVIRONMENTAL WARRIORS CLEAN UP. Personnel from several offices in the Department of the Interior and Local Government and City Government of San Fernando join forces for a major clean-up drive in City of San Fernando, Pampanga on March 25, 2022.

As part of its program on Solid Waste Management, the City Government, through the CENRO, annually conducts a series of clean-up drives in barangays, public places, and major thoroughfares.
