Displaced families in Margot get relocated, receive P7-K cash aid

ANGELES CITY – Not only will 255 displaced families in Barangay Margot here get relocated, but they also each received P7,000 financial assistance from the city government led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.

The residents will soon be given 100-square meter residential lots each in Barangay Sapangbato, from the land donated to the city government by the Belvedere Vista Corporation.

This was the second batch of displaced families who got relocated and received ₱7,000 cash aid. The first batch was given benefits on December 2021.

Mayor Lazatin said his administration will always look out for the welfare of residents who have been displaced.

“Tayo po ay hindi titigil hanggat hindi natutugunan ang mga pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” Lazatin said.

A total of P1,785,000 were given as financial assistance to the residents from the budget of the Office of the Mayor.

Councilor Atty. Arvin “Pogs” Suller said city officials collectively worked for the relocation of the residents.

Vice Mayor Vicenta Vega-Cabigting also emphasized that the Sangguniang Panlungsod with Mayor Lazatin will continue to provide programs that will help residents of Angeles City, especially those who have lost their homes.

Residents were more than happy to receive the cash aid, noting that they would use it for repairs and their daily expenses.

“Malaking tulong talaga. Para sa amin, bagong pag-asa ito at panatag na loob namin,” Virginia Flores, a resident of Barangay Margot said when asked about the cash assistance. She added that they would use the assistance for their house repairs.

Also present during the event were City Councilors Raco Del Rosario, JC Parker Aguas, Danilo Lacson, Jesus “Jay” Sangil, PG Ponce, and Marino “Niknok” Bañola. Rodelio Mamac Jr. and Christopher Joseph Ponce also graced the event.
