DPWH completes slope protection in Floridablanca

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the P29.3-million slope protection project along the San Jose Section of Santol Creek in Floridablanca town.

Implemented by Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office, the infrastructure – which serves as a flood mitigation structure for barangay San Jose to ensure the safety of residents and secure their livelihood – has a total length of 347.52 linear meters.

“The national project was funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act,” District Engineer Gregorio Audea Jr. said.

Conrado Mercado, a local farmer residing in the area since 1972, thanked DPWH for the project as their farmlands no longer experience inundation during the rainy season.

“We are pleased to hear that project stakeholders value the structure we built,” Audea said.
