CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Trade fairs organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the provinces of Bataan, Nueva Ecija and Pampanga – participated in by around 98 female micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) – have generated total sales of ₱985,192 from cash and booked orders in five days.
Meanwhile, potential sales are also expected to result from ongoing negotiations which amount to ₱488,099, DTI said.
Bataan’s Likha ng Bataeños Trade Fair was held at Vista Mall Bataan with 38 MSMEs participating. Nueva Ecija’s Women’s Month Trade Fair was held at NE Pacific Mall with 35 participating MSMEs, while Pampanga held two separate Trade Fairs: Women of Wonder (WOW) Bazaar at Jenra Grand Mall with 9 MSME exhibitors and the Fernanpreneur Trade Fair Caravan held at Vista Mall in the City of San Fernando with 16 MSMEs exhibiting.
The holding of such trade fairs is one among several activities held by the agency to help empower and uplift the livelihood of women in line with the 2022 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC).
The 2022 NWMC endeavors to highlight the gains achieved for women and girls, to assess actions towards gender equality and move toward steps to ensure progress in empowering women. DTI heeds the call to celebrate the gains in what has been achieved in gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) guided by the theme “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women”.
