DTI-3 holds 2024 Women Entrep Summit

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 3 successfully hosted the Central Luzon Women Entrepreneurs Summit on July 15, 2024, at the Orchid Gardens, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

With the theme “Celebrating Region 3 Women in Business,” the summit brought together over 100 women entrepreneurs from across Central Luzon for a day of learning, networking, and recognition.

The event featured insightful learning sessions on Empowering Women, Navigating Local Markets and Innovations in Finance. Ms. Joy Enriquez of Converge ICT Solutions talked about Harnessing Digitalization for Business Growth and Innovation, VP Business Unit Head of 2GO Group Ms. Blessie Cruz gave a presentation on The Role of Logistics in Enhancing Domestic E-Commerce while Paycools Marketing Manager Mr. Heall Penales talked about Digital Financial Literacy for Women Entrepreneurs.

The sessions aimed to equip women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the evolving business landscape and leverage digital advancements for growth and innovation.

On behalf of City of San Fernando Mayor Vilma Caluag, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) head Ms. Mary Ann Biliwang graced the event and gave an inspiring message to the attendees.

In addition to the learning sessions, the nominees and awardees of the Presidential Awards for Outstanding MSMEs and Development partners were given recognition during the event.

The nominees for the Presidential Awards for Outstanding Enterprises are Jedidiah Food Industry of Bulacan and Simula ng Panibagong Bukas Multi Purpose Cooperative of Nueva Ecija. Nominees for the Outstanding Development Partners are the Provincial Cooperative Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) of Bulacan, Philippine Carabao Center, and Department of Science and Technology Bataan.

Among the nominees, PCEDO Bulacan and DOST Bataan received the Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners for their exceptional efforts in fostering business growth and innovation.

DTI-3 Regional Director Brigida T. Pili, in her last event before retirement, emphasized the significance of the summit: “This event is a testament to our collective efforts and shared vision for a more inclusive and vibrant business community. This highlights the crucial role women play in shaping the economic landscape of our region and underscores our commitment to fostering an environment where women entrepreneurs can thrive.”

A mini trade fair ran alongside the summit, showcasing products from women-led MSMEs and providing participants with the opportunity to explore and support local businesses.
