
MABALACAT CITY – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque visited the Mabalacat Public Market and Puregold-San Francisco on April 3, 2025, to assess the prices of necessities and prime commodities, as well as to observe the city’s best practices in consumer welfare and fair trade.




Accompanied by Undersecretaries, Assistant Secretaries, Regional Director Edna Dizon, and Provincial Director Elenita Ordonio, Secretary Roque checked on Mabalacat City’s initiatives such as price monitoring, swift response to consumer complaints, and the testing and calibration of vendors’ weighing scales.




City Mayor Cris Garbo, along with officers of the Mabalacat Public Market Vendors Association (MPMVA), City Agriculture-OIC Remedios Magtubo, City Public Market Head and President of Pampanga Market Administrators Association Ryan Mendiola, and members of the Local Price Coordinating Council, warmly welcomed the DTI delegation. Also present were other DTI Regional Directors from Zambales, Tarlac, and Bataan.




This visit underscores Mabalacat City’s commitment to ensuring fair trade practices and protecting consumer rights, reinforcing its proactive approach to maintaining market stability and transparency.
