Garbo dedicates 6th SGLG Award to Mabalaquenians

Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo (MCG) has dedicated to Mabalaquenians the city’s Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) given on Dec. 15 at The Manila Hotel.

Mayor Garbo personally received the national award along with city administrator Frank Madlangbayan and DILG-Mabalacat officer Rowena Ocampo.

The LGU, apart from a plaque of recognition, also received a check worth Php7 million from the agency.

“Para kekatamu ya ngan pu ini, kabalen ko! To successfully deliver proper services to my fellow Mabalaquenians is my goal; this award is just a big bonus,” the mayor said.

Garbo extended his gratitude to the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, headed by Vice Mayor Gerald Guttrie Aquino, department heads and all the LGU employees for the continuous success of the city.

“This is all because of your hard work and heartfelt public service to our fellow Mabalaquenians. This only proves that our programs and services truly reach the people and that together, we can achieve anything. Dacal pung salamat  kekayu ngan!” exclaimed the mayor.

The SGLG is the highest recognition and the most prestigious award given by the DILG to Local Government Units with outstanding delivery of public service.

Anchored to the theme “Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal,” SGLG 2022 aims to give distinction to remarkable local government performance across several areas, including integrity and good performance to institutionalize local governance reforms, in the continuing pursuit for meaningful local autonomy and development.

Mabalacat City is among the 60 cities, 274 municipalities and 18 provinces who received the SGLG award this year and this is the sixth time the city has snatched the award in a decade.
