Gov Delta: ‘Everybody is welcome in Pampanga’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda said candidates who are going to visit Pampanga in the homerun of the campaign will be treated with the usual Kapampangan hospitality if they visit the Capitol.

“Everybody is welcome in Pampanga,” he said.

Pineda said local and national candidates who are intent on campaigning in Pampanga are welcome, assuring them that they have the right to seek the Kapampangans’ votes.

The governor, since the start of the campaign period, had welcomed presidential candidates Ferdinand Marcos, Francisco Moreno Domagoso and Leni Robredo. He had also been welcoming national candidates from partylists, senatorial candidates and even those seeking national positions.

“We will accept everyone who visits us in the province. It is our obligation to accept [them]… and show the Kapampangan attitude that they are welcome,” Pineda said.

Pineda, who is also seeking a fresh term in office, said in previous reports that Kapampangans are free to choose their political bets.

“I am begging all Kapampangans. Let’s respect each other’s decisions. Let’s not take any step against rival candidates. And the same goes for the other side, let’s avoid it. At the end of the day, we are still all Kapampangans,” Pineda said.

As for candidates who are going to visit Pampanga in the homerun of the campaign, Pineda said they will be treated with the usual Kapampangan hospitality if they visit the Capitol.

“We should not quarrel because of the candidate we want. What we need to do is to respect each other, and the decision of our fellow Kapampangans as to which candidate they want so that this election will be a peaceful one,” Pineda added.
