Gov. Delta leads push for preventive healthcare in San Simon

SAN SIMON, Pampanga – Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda urged Simonians to take advantage of the Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Program, designed to detect and treat illnesses at their earliest stages, thus preventing further deterioration and potential fatalities.

This was gleaned from the recent implementation of the “Kapitolyo sa Barangay” Program, during which the Governor conducted consultations in several barangays in San Simon town on Tuesday, May 14.

According to Governor Delta, early detection increases the chances of successful treatment and can prevent conditions from becoming more severe. It also reduces the need for expensive medical interventions and hospitalizations.

“Magsabi lang po kayo sa inyong mga opisyal sa barangay, at sila na po mismo ang magdadala sa inyo sa Kapitolyo. Tinitiyak ko po sa inyo na mayro’n kayong makukuhang tulong,” said Gov. Delta.

He also guaranteed the attendees that the provincial government will fully cover all medical expenses under the Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Program.

“Kami po ang bahala sa operasyon ninyo, wala kayong gagastusin, sagot lahat ng Kapitolyo,” he stressed.

Elena Yamson, 58, was among the 2,550 Simonians who attended the program. She described Pineda’s administration as truly “humane” and “selfless.”

“Sana humaba pa ang buhay ni Gov. Delta dahil lahat ng taong nangangailangan, tinutulungan niya. ‘Yung mga walang-wala, kapag dumaing, kaagad niyang binibigyang pansin,” Yamson said.

Through the joint collaboration of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO), General Services Office (GSO), and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the attendees from Barangays Sto. Niño, San Agustin, San Pedro, San Juan, San Isidro, Sta. Monica, Dela Paz, and San Pablo Libutad received cash and rice assistance during the program.

Governor Delta, joined by San Simon Mayor Abundio Punsalan, PDRRMO Chief Angelina Blanco, and PSWDO Head Fe Manarang, personally distributed the said assistance to the recipients. —Jasmine Jaso/GO
