Lady lantern maker slain in CSF

CAMP OLIVAS – Police are now looking into the slaying of a lady lantern trader who was gunned down Tuesday by unidentified armed men riding on a motorcycle in Barangay San Juan, City of San Fernando.

Police Regional Office 3 director Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr. identified the victim as Rosalind Cruz Mangune, a businesswoman from Norzagaray, Bulacan engaged in making Christmas lanterns.

Hidalgo said the victim was unloading their products at Salilungan along Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Barangay San Juan when the suspects appeared from nowhere and shot the victim around 9 AM.

Police said the victim sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot.

Witnesses claimed the suspects immediately fled after shooting the victim.

Hidalgo, who condemned the senseless killing of the woman, directed the Pampanga police to conduct a thorough investigation.

According to Hidalgo, this is the first time that a lady lantern maker was killed in Pampanga. He said police investigators are looking if the incident has a connection in the lantern making business.
