The city of Mabalacat has been named a National Passer (City Category) in the 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping for the province of Pampanga.
The announcement was made by the Department of the Interior Local Government (DILG) in partnership with the Local Governance Resource Center (LGRC).
According to Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, this marks a significant milestone for the city’s governance and financial management.
“This achievement reflects the unwavering commitment and performance of Mabalacat City in upholding transparency, accountability, and good governance in its financial affairs,” Garbo said.
The recognition underscores the city’s adherence to sound fiscal management practices and its dedication to promoting responsible and efficient use of public funds, he added.
The mayor emphasized that this is a testament to the city’s hard work, dedication, and unwavering faith.
“No matter how a few people try to bring us down, you cannot deny the fruits of our labor. This victory is a reflection of our collective efforts and steadfast commitment to promoting excellence in governance,” he said.
The 2023 Good Financial Housekeeping serves as a platform to honor local government units that have demonstrated outstanding performance in financial management and governance.
