MABALACAT CITY – Mayor Crisostomo Garbo stressed the need for a coordinated and sustained effort to eliminate the drug menace from the community.
This, as he spearheaded the 3rd quarter joint meeting of the City Peace and Order Council and Anti-Drug Abuse Council at Tabnuan Cultural and Heritage Center.
During the meeting, Mayor Garbo reiterated the importance of staying vigilant and proactive in addressing emerging security challenges to ensure the safety and well-being of all Mabalaqueños.
Mayor Garbo was joined by punong barangays, officials of DILG Mabalacat, Mabalacat Police, BFP Mabalacat, PDEA, and other members of the councils.
The agenda for the meeting included crucial topics such as the approval of a resolution amending the Peace and Order Public Safety (POPS) Plan for the calendar year 2024.
During the meeting, updates on the current peace and order situation in Mabalacat City were presented.
Furthermore, significant updates on the progress of drug clearing operations in the city were discussed. The Anti-Drug Abuse Council reported on the achievements and challenges faced in the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs.
Another key agenda item was the re-orientation of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) members regarding the barangay drug clearing program. Mayor Garbo highlighted the essential role of BADAC members in the implementation of anti-drug initiatives at the grassroots level and urged them to remain committed to the cause.
The joint meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work together towards a safer and drug-free Mabalacat City. MCG expressed his gratitude to the council members and stakeholders for their dedication and cooperation in promoting peace and order in the city.
