Mayor Garbo urges public: Stay healthy amid transition to rainy season

MABALACAT CITY – Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has urged the public to prioritize their health and well-being amid the transition to the rainy season.

The mayor emphasized the importance of staying healthy, especially as reports of a new variant of Covid-19 and other respiratory diseases have surfaced.

Mayor Garbo, who also serves as the League of Cities of the Philippines’ Focal Person for Health, highlighted the preparedness of Mabalacat City to address the health needs of its kababayans. He assured the public that the city’s Rural Health Units (RHUs) are equipped and ready to provide essential health services.

City Health Officer Dr. Ann Tolentino affirmed that the local government unit (LGU) is prepared to handle common illnesses associated with the rainy season. She encouraged Mabalaquenians to proactively seek medical attention at the RHUs for any health concerns that may arise.

In an earlier report, the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA) has clarified that while some parts of the country have been experiencing rain and thunderstorms, it is not yet official to declare the start of the rainy season. The development of a La Niña phenomenon may potentially delay the onset of the rainy season.
