CAMP OLIVAS – Some 200 kilos of shabu worth P1.3 billion were recovered by government authorities inside an abandoned vehicle in the parking area of a supermarket in Barangay Camachiles, Mabalacat City on Friday, August 25.
Police Regional Office 3 director Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr. said a team of policemen from the Mabalacat City Police Office assisted the Task Force Anti-Illegal Drugs of the National Bureau of Investigation from Manila in the recovery operation.

Hidalgo said the recovery operation took place at the parking area of SM Hypermarket in Barangay Camachiles, Mabalacat City at around 1:58 AM on Friday.

Prior to the recovery operation, a team fron TFAID-NBI led by Attorney Eduardo Ramos Jr. contacted Lt. Col. Abraham Abayari, chief of police of Mabalacat City, informing him about the presence of a red Toyota Avanza (ZGS-643) reportedly abandoned for seven days in the parking area of the said supermarket.

During the inspection, NBI personnel reportedly discovered some 200 kilos of shabu inside the vehicle.
The NBI team immediately seized the illegal drugs and took them to Manila for inventory.
