CLARK FREEPORT – While big plans are lined up for the aviation complex in the future, the Clark International Airport Corp is starting with small things on the immediate side to complement the development programs here.
In his Christmas message before media, newly-installed CIAC President Joseph Alcazar said that some projects that support flagship projects will be implemented before the year ends.
“Before the year ends, we shall lay these foundations and then we’ll proceed with big-ticket projects,” Alcazar told media. He assumed the CIAC helm only a month ago from Arrey Perez.
He identified the projects to include the rehabilitation of roads, parks and open spaces, engineering designs of horizontal infra projects or the various connecting roads, the improvement of Clark Picnic Grounds, and upgrading of street lights along CM Recto and Gil Puyat Avenues – all of which are within the 2,200-hectare Clark Aviation Complex here.
All these will be laid even as Alcazar doubled down on the grand plans here especially the so-called Clark Aviation Capital.
“CIAC will spearhead these developments aimed at making the Clark Aviation Capital (CAC) the premier aviation-centric investment hub in our country and for Clark to become one of the country’s leading economic centers,” he said.
The CAC will be “in conjunction of economic activities where the Clark airport is one of its finest ingredients.”
Alcazar will also be pushing for key national projects such as the Clark National Food Hub (CNFH) which has gained headway with support from the Executive department and Congress.
CIAC will also be firming up plans for the World Convention and Events Hub, the Multi-Mobility Hub, the CIAC Urban Renewal and Heritage Program, the second runway and the Direct Access Link to the airport.
