A man wanted for a series of robberies was killed on Thursday in an encounter with the police.
In a report to Pampanga police director Col. Alvin Ruby Consolacion, Mabalacat police chief Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno said joint elements of Mabalacat police, RID3, PIU PAMPANGA, SCU3 and PS3 ACPO served a warrant of arrest on suspect identified as Derrick Castillo, of Joaville Compound, Bgy. Pandan Angeles City.
When Castillo saw the approaching cops, he fired shots at them, prompting the policemen to retaliate which resulted in the suspect’s death.
Police said the suspect was involved in a series of robbery at Alfamart Convenience Store and betting stations in Pampanga and nearby provinces and had a standing warrant of arrest for robbery.
Confiscated from suspect were one 9mm pistol, a bullet, ammunition, seven 9mm fired cartrige, two plastic sachets of shabu and a cellphone.
