P2-M shabu seized from Janawi Criminal Group

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Combined efforts of authorities were able to score anew on criminal gangs operating in Central Luzon as the leader of the notorious Janawi Criminal Group and two of its members were arrested Wednesday during an anti-drug operation in Subic, Zambales.

Police Regional Office 3 director Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr. said operatives from Philippine National Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested Roger Janawi, leader of the Janawi Criminal Group in a drug bust in Barangay Capalacuan, Subic at about 8:55 PM of November 22, 2023.

Along with Janawi, his two unidentified henchmen were arrested, including the seizure of 296 grams of methampetamine hydrochloride or shabu with a standard price of Php 2,012,800. Police also seized from Janawi a caliber .38 revolver with six live bullets. 

“This collaborative effort among law enforcement agencies shows our commitment to putting a stop to illegal drug activities and breaking apart criminal groups in Central Luzon,” Hidalgo said.

With this development, the Central Luzon police continues to encourage the public to stay alert and work with authorities by reporting any suspicious criminal activities particularly illegal drugs.
