P3.1M in imported shabu seized in controlled delivery operation

CLARK FREEPORT — A male claimant was apprehended with 458 grams of imported shabu worth Php3,114,400 after a controlled delivery operation Wednesday night at Gen. Lucban St., Barangay Bangcal, Makati City.

According to a report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Central Luzon, the parcel was sent to a certain Adrian Lagar, whose real name is Adrian Lagarde, 31, and a resident of Brgy. Lucban in the said city.

The report further said that the parcel containing the illegal substances originated from Philadelphia, United States.

The shipment arrived at the Port of Clark last July 3, 2023. The parcel was declared as a bread toaster and consigned to Lagarte.

Lagarte yielded 458 grams of crystal meth (shabu) with an estimated street value Php3.1 million.

The successful operation was conducted by the combined elements of PDEA Pampanga Provincial Office, PDEA RO III Airport Interdiction Unit, Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark,  PDEA NCR and the local police.

Violation of Section 4 ( importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be charged against the arrested claimant.
