Pampanga farmers get P126.2-M farm equipment

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), in collaboration with the provincial government, distributed P126 million worth of farm machinery and equipment to farmer cooperatives across the province.

Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, DA Regional Director Crispulo Bautista Jr., and PhilMech Director Dionisio Alvindia Ph.D., spearheaded the turn-over of equipment and machineries funded under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) of the department in ceremonies held at the Bren Z Guiao Convention Center on Thursday, January 11, 2023.

Governor Delta expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Senate Chairperson for the Committee on Agriculture Senator Cynthia Villar for hearing the pleas of farmers and cooperatives in the province. He highlighted that this assistance would significantly enhance farmers’ yields.

“Nais ko pong magpasalamat sa Department of Agriculture (DA), at kay Senadora Cynthia Villar sa pagtugon niyo po sa pangangailangan po ng ating agri-sector lalong-lalo na ang mga farmer association po ng Pampanga. Gusto ko din pong pasalamatan ang mahal nating pangulo para sa suportang ibinigay niyo po sa probinsya. Pinapakita niyo po kung gaano niyo po kamahal ang pampanga,” stated Governor Delta.

Vice Governor Nanay emphasized the provincial government’s dedicated efforts to provide essential assistance to the agricultural sector in the province.

“Kami po sama-sama po kami, magkakaisa po kami para sa pagtulong po lahat sa inyo. Kami nila Gov, at mga board members niyo hindi kami titigil na lalapit sa mga senador para makakuha ng pondo para sa inyo sa probinsya,” she affirmed.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the invaluable assistance provided. A total of 52 farm machineries and equipment, including tractors, tillers, transplanters, seeders, harvesters, millers, and other essential tools, were distributed among 39 farmer cooperatives.
