CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The province of Pampanga has been named 3rd among 10 provinces nationwide with the highest locally sourced revenues (LSR) for fiscal year (FY) 2021.
A list furnished by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) shows that Pampanga has LSR amounting to P1.447 million. The province of Rizal topped the list with P1.836 million, followed by Bulacan at 2nd with P1.820 million.
Meanwhile, Pampanga is also in the list of top provinces in terms of collection efficiency of LSRs for FY2021, placing 5th with 103.7 percent. Leading is Cebu with 142.6 percent, followed by Quirino (123.7%), Aklan (123.1%) and Capiz (108%).
In a Facebook post, Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying this is the third time that the province has been cited in terms of LSRs.
“Pangatlong taon na po na maganda ang performance ng Pampanga provincial government sa aspeto ng lokal na kita. Bunga po ito ng sipag ng mga department heads at kawani ng inyong Capitol sa gabay ng liderato ko at ni Vice Governor Nanay. Sa paglaki ng kita ng Capitol, Kapampangan ang makikinabang,” he said.
The BLGF made the announcement in recognition of the provinces’ exemplary efforts and performance towards sustainable growth and effective local fiscal management.
In line with BLGF Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 015.2022 dated 29 July 2022 the reporting accountabilities of LGUs under the LGU Integrated Financial Tools (LIFT) System have been processed, analyzed, ranked and vetted by the BLGF Central and Regional Offices to recognize the Top LGU Performers for FY 2021.
