CLARK FREEPORT — President Ferdinand Marcos led the groundbreaking ceremony for the Clark Multi Specialty Medical Center (CMSMC) here, which is seen as a significant milestone in the Philippines’ healthcare landscape.
In his speech, the President emphasized his commitment to transparency and accountability, assuring the public of his dedication to reporting pertinent details regarding establishing specialty centers across the nation.
This groundbreaking facility, a result of collaboration between the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Pampanga Local Government Units (LGUs), and the Department of Health (DOH), embodies a whole-of-government approach to bring medical services closer to the Filipino people.
In attendance to welcome the President were CDC President Agnes Devanadera, Pampanga Vice Gov. Lilia Pineda, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr., CDC chairman Ed Pamintuan, CDC Director Atty Bryan Matthew Nepomuceno, BCDA chairman Delfin Lorenzana, DOH Chief of Staff Undersecretary Gloria Balboa, representating Secretary Ted Herbosa, among other officials.
According to the Department of Health, the CMSMC is a pioneering catalyst for transformative change in establishing specialized medical centers nationwide. Through a public-private partnership, it aims to foster hope and ensure access to high-quality health services for the people of Region III and neighboring regions.
This proposed state-of-the-art medical center features a comprehensive range of specialized departments, including a Heart Center, Kidney Center, Cancer Institute, and Pediatrics. Equipped with cutting-edge facilities that rival the world’s best, CMSMC aims to provide top-notch medical care to its patients.
The CMSMC represents a significant step forward in the Philippines’ healthcare system, promising improved accessibility, advanced medical services, and a brighter future for the nation’s health, the DOH said.
Further, the establishment of the CMSMC is an embodiment of several points of the Department’s Eight-Point Action Agenda and the President’s objective to Build Better More – Batong Buhay Mahiwaga (BBM).
