MABALACAT CITY — A member of the notorious Sputnik Gang and his two female cohorts were arrested on Tuesday while at least P1.7 million worth of shabu were seized from them in an entrapment in Barangay Dau here.
In a report submitted to Police Regional Office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, Pampanga police acting director Col. Alvin Ruby Consolacion said Mabalacat police led by Lt. Col. Protom Guevarra said his men, with members of RPDEU, conducted a buy-bust in Bgy. Dau which resulted to the arrest of three drug peddlers identified as Renato David, 58, a member of Sputnik Gang and Nympha Compahinay, 50, both residents of Bgy., Dau; and Visitacion Ornido, 47, of Sitio Pader, Pulung Maragul, Angeles City.
Confiscated from the three suspects were one knot-tied plastic sachet and eight small packets containing shabu, weighing 250 grams valued at P1,700,000; one P1,000 marked bill and boodle money; two body bags; a digital weighing scale; P1,200 cash; and two cellphones.
The three suspects will be charged with violation of Sections 5, 26, and 11 of Art. II of R.A 9165.
“We are relentless in our campaign against illegal drugs and we will keep on conducting anti-drug operations to stop its proliferation may this serve as a warning to those who are still involved in illegal trade and illegal activities,” Baccay said.
