Suspect in murder of teen biker nabbed

CAMP OLIVAS — PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen on Thursday announced the arrest of the prime suspect in the murder of a 15-year-old biker in Bulacan by joint personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 5 and the Bulacan police in Bgy. Veneracion, (Taguilid), Pamplona, Camarines Sur.

Pasiwen identified the suspect as Gaspar Maneja Jr. alias Jose Francisco Santos, who was positively identified by witnesses as the last known companion of the victim. 

The victim’s brother told police that before his sister’s death, the latter mentioned that she would meet a certain Jose Francisco Santos who would give her a bicycle.

Further investigation revealed that Maneja Jr. has three outstanding warrants of arrest for violation of RA 7610 or Anti-Child Abuse law and rape without bail.

Criminal complaints of rape with homicide were filed against the suspect before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Malolos City, Bulacan.     

Pasiwen added that the concerted efforts and intelligence-driven operations conducted by the operating teams led in the immediate solving of the case.
