Taiwanese national yields P3-M ketamine

SOME 600 grams of ketamine worth at least P3 million, which arrived at the Port of Clark on May 12 disguised as air purifiers, were seized from a Taiwanese national during a controlled delivery operation on Tuesday dawn.

Authorities identified the arrested suspect as Chang Bin Yen, married, 33 years old, resident of Tainan, Taiwan.

“Ketamine is a dangerous drug classified as hallucinogenic drugs. It can sedate, incapacitate, and cause short-term memory loss, and because of this, some people use it as date-rape drug,” said PDEA-3 chemist.

Confiscated during the operation were two (2) boxes where six (6) pcs stainless steel water purifier containing 600 grams of ketamine were concealed.

The operation was conducted by joint operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, BOC Port of Clark, South Police District and the Makati City police.

A charge for violation of section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) will be filed against the foreigner.
