Tornado leaves 21 houses, structures damaged in Bacolor

BACOLOR, Pampanga — A total of 21 houses and structures, including a church and a supermarket, were damaged by a tornado which hit this town on June 22.

This was reported by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Angie Blanco during the PDRRMC Quarterly Meeting held at the Kingsborough Convention Center in the City of San Fernando on June 23.

According to Blanco, totally damaged houses are located in La Tiera Solana Subd. in Cabalantian (1), Casa Real Solana, Cabalantian (2), and Zone 3 in Cabalantian (1).

Meanwhile, partially damaged houses were recorded in La Tiera Solana Subd. in Cabalantian (5), Casa Real Solana, Cabalantian (5), Casa Nguyen in Sitio Banlic (3) and Zone 6 in San Isidro (1).

Also totally damaged was the Baytra Supermarket in Banlic, while partially damaged were the St. Joseph Parish Church in Cabalantian and the Shell gas station also in Banlic.

In terms of infrastructure, Blanco said the MacArthur Highway from San Vicente to Don Bosco is now passable, after hanging electrical cables from damaged posts have been cleared.
